HOw I got Started

I grew up in the country on a few acres with ponds and untamed woods, where I learned to recognize the deep relationships that tie nature together — the pecan tree and the squirrels who feast on its fruit, the ants who clean up crumbs from the squirrel’s discarded shells, the crows who watch the squirrels bury pecans only to later steal them, and the size of the pecans themselves dependent on the past year’s rain.

Walking the same paths through the seasons, I came to understand that nature has hidden stories that reveal themselves with time, like morning glories thriving under the shade of a tree limb, then disappearing because it fell during a storm. These moments taught me to pay attention to patterns and the unseen forces shaping the world around us.

EXPERIENCE

As a UX Researcher, I bring the same approach to understanding people as they interact with technology, striving to uncover the stories that lead to meaningful design. Just like nature, people are full of surprises—if you know how to look.

Passion

My favorite things about working as a researcher are empathizing with users, identifying patterns, and uncovering actionable insights. I’m lucky enough in my business to be able to act on the insights I uncover and hand over a finished website that meets the needs of the business and the consumer. Research is the most rewarding step in the user-centered design process for me. Researching challenges me and makes me happy.
